Thyssenkrupp Automotive hit by cyberattack

On February 23, 2024, Thyssenkrupp Automotive was hit by a cyberattack. The attack affected several production sites and forced the company to shut down some IT systems.

The attack was first detected on Friday, February 23, 2024. As a result, IT systems were shut down at several production sites of the Automotive division (automotive supplier). Work has been stopped in some parts of the plant. The attack was confirmed by the company on Friday, February 23, 2024.

A plant in Saarland is also said to be affected. According to research done by Günter Born, this must be the Wadern-Lockweiler plant (Merzig district), which produces body parts for the automotive industry. Around 1,000 employees in Saarland are said to be affected.
